The Strépy-Thieu funicular, which was put into operation in the early 2000s, is one of the most beautiful technical masterpieces of modern Belgian construction. Located in the heart of the European river network, this structure of titanic proportions allows the new generations of barges to overcome a height difference of 73.15 meters, making it the largest ship lift in Europe!
