Description
The small attractive town Saint Vith and its environs lie between the Eifel and the Ardennes. The municipality has been known for generations for its hospitality and tourist facilities. The town Saint Vith, which was completely destroyed during the Second World War, has developed remarkably in last decades. Nevertheless the ancient tradition as a marketplace has been preserved so that Saint Vith offers to its guests a large number of attractive shopping facilities in its recently renewed city centre where a lot of terraces invite for staying. Moreover the regular market events attract thousands of visitors; the highlight of these events is the traditional Katharinenmarkt in November.
The big recreational value of the natural landscape offers a high quality of life to the locals and the visitors of the municipality. A lot of kilometres of footpaths and cycle tracks are available and are being developed. For sporty visitors there is in and also around Saint Vith a good infrastructure with tennis courts, a golf course, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and many things more. Moreover there is next to St. Vith a large leisure centre with a cart track, a bowling alley and other attractions. The large culture, conference und exhibition centre "Triangel" enlarges the tourist facilities.
